About our Learning Cards

Size & Durability
Each Learning Card is an oversized 9" wide x 11.5" tall and encased in heavy duty plastic that has been heat-sealed for excellent durability.

Non-Toxic / Earth Friendly
All of our products are non-toxic, and we print all of our Learning Cards and Learning Guides in the USA on recycled paper. The tote bags that come with our Learning Kits are also made from recycled materials. We laminate each Learning Card so that it is a reusable product, and it is also a no-waste product when it is wiped clean with a reusable cloth instead of a paper towel.

Use & Care
Our Learning Cards are very simple to use, and each one features ample space for writing and creativity on the front and back. They have been created to appeal to multiple learning styles and multiple intelligences, which helps make learning easier and more effective. To maximize this learning experience for your child and utilize the full features of the cards, please refer to the Learning Guide included with each set.

Each Learning Card is encased in a heavy laminate for easy use and durability. To use, simply write on the card with a dry erase marker, then wipe clean. For best results and longevity, we recommend using high quality dry erase markers and wiping with a soft, dry reusable cloth or paper towel.

Fonts
We offer your selection of five fonts: Print, Cursive, D'Nealian®, Sign Language, and Sign Language for Children. For easy reference, a preview is provided beside the "Select Font" pull-down menu in each product description. Every set is available with your choice of any of these fonts.

Sign Language

All of our products can be customized to teach sign language - Simply choose the "Sign Language" or "Sign Language - child" font from the "Select Font" pull-down menu on the product description screen, and your product will be printed with hand signs instead of letters. There is no extra charge for sign language sets, and the product details stay the same.

The difference between our regular Sign Language font, and our "Sign Language - child" font is the hands used for modeling the signs. We want sign language to be easy and encouraging for younger and older learners alike. Since a child's small hands do not move like an adult's, a four-year-old has modeled the hand signs for our "child" font and an adult has modeled the signs for our regular Sign Language font.

"Personalization Pockets"
Each Learning Card features a "Personalization Pocket" (except for the customer-printed downloadable Cards). It is a clear pocket that overlays the image area and empowers your child to customize the image by simply inserting a personal photograph, drawing, magazine clipping, etc. It is large enough to hold sizes up to a half sheet of paper (8.5" x 5.5"). By using this pocket, your child is given yet another method in which to interact with the words he or she is learning on the card, therefore strengthening the learning experience and promoting retention.

"Learning Levels" / Other Languages
We provide three "Learning Levels" to make it easy for you to find the ideal set. Each Level describes the reading/spelling difficulty of the words in our English language sets. There are three levels: easy, intermediate, and challenging. Sets in other languages are grouped according to language.

Here is a Learning Level Guide:
Easy - first step for beginners
- effectively builds a strong foundation of reading, writing, and spelling skills
- features consistent vowel and letter sounds, allowing for words to be sounded out
- contains only short words (up to 6 letters)

Intermediate - next step for beginners
- gently guides reader in learning letter combination and long vowel sounds
- each set contains a carefully selected variety of sounds and letters
- some sets introduce longer words

Challenging - for advanced beginners
- naturally advances reading skills by introducing more complex words
- each set contains a variety of letter combination sounds and word rules
- some cards introduce multiple words

Learning Guide
Included with each set is a Learning Guide that you can use to maximize the teaching benefit of the Learning Cards. By following the simple steps, this learning experience becomes multisensory, appealing to multiple learning styles and multiple intelligences. This interactive, multisensory approach can help make learning easier, more enjoyable, and more effective.

Warranty
We take great pride in our workmanship, and we guarantee our products to be free from material defects for 45 days from the purchase date. In addition to being committed to our customers, we are also committed to our Earth and have used recycled materials and sound production processes in the manufacturing of our Learning Cards. As a result, some cards may have small variations that do not affect their functionality or longevity. If you have received a card with a defect which affects its functionality, please contact us for a refund or replacement.

What are your hours of operation?
We understand your busy schedule, and we are pleased to offer you service 24 hours a day, 7 days per week with the exception of the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holidays.

Order Processing
Your Learning Cards are custom made according to your specifications (theme, Learning Level, language, font choice, etc.), and your order is placed in our printing and assembly queue as soon as you complete your purchase. Although most orders ship sooner, please allow up to 10 business days for your Learning Cards to be created for you before they are shipped.

If you are purchasing "Printable" Learning Cards (an electronic version of our products), the downloadable file will be emailed to you within one business day of your purchase.

Order Status?
At this time, we do not offer an automated method to view your order status. However, here is an easy guide for determining the status of your order:

Immediately - After completing your purchase, you receive a confirmation email
Within 10 business days - Your Learning Cards are custom made to your specifications and shipped
1-5 business days - Your order arrives in the allotted time for the selected shipping method; please allow additional time for orders shipped outside of the continental US

Did my order go through?
You will receive a confirmation email after we have received your order.

Payment methods
We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit and debit cards.

Your information is secure
Our secure server encrypts all of the personal information you submit to us during the checkout process. We use SSL 128-bit encryption to protect your information as it is transmitted, providing you with the highest level of protection possible when communicating over the internet. In addition, we do not sell our customer lists, so you will not be contacted by other businesses because you placed an order with us. Shipping Options
Your Learning Cards are custom made for you within 10 business days, then shipped via your selected shipping method from Washington State. We currently offer FedEx Ground and FedEx Express (Express Saver 3 Day, 2nd day, and Standard Overnight) delivery services to addresses in the United States and Canada. Sorry, we cannot ship to PO boxes.

You can also order your Learning Cards in "printable" electronic format. These sets are delivered to you via email with no shipping fees.

Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are based on the weight of your order and your shipping address. Shipping for your order is calculated during the checkout process, and you will have the opportunity to review your charges before submitting your order.

There are no shipping charges for "Printable" Learning Cards (an electronic version of our products), which are delivered to you via email as a downloadable file.

International Shipping
We currently ship to the US and Canada. For orders to other countries, please contact us.

Sales Tax
We charge 8.6% sales tax to Washington State residents only. Effective July 1, 2008, all Washington State businesses will be required to charge Washington State customers their local sales tax rates.

Returns
Your Learning Cards are custom created for you according to the options you have selected (theme, Learning Level, language, font choice, etc.). Because of this customization, returns and exchanges are not accepted. All sales are final.

Cancellation Policy
Your order is placed in our printing and assembly queue immediately upon completing your purchase. If you need to cancel an order, you may contact us within 24 hours of placing your order. If production has already begun on your Learning Cards, then your order is non-refundable.

Because of the automated delivery of our "Printable" Learning Card sets which arrive to you via email in electronic format, we cannot accept cancellations on these orders.

Selecting a Gift
Our Learning Card Kits make ideal gifts, and our gift wrapping services make gift giving extra special. Don't know which set to purchase? Here are a few suggestions:

About Downloadable Cards

What are "Printable" Learning Cards?
For your convenience, we are pleased to offer all of our Learning Card sets in a "printable" electronic format option with no shipping charges. No special paper or equipment is required - all you need is a computer with email and a color printer. You can print them out as needed, or your local print shop can laminate them for repeated use.

Each full color set looks very similar to our company-printed cards, and includes a Learning Guide. The electronic file is in PDF format and is emailed to you within one business day of your purchase. PDF files can be opened and printed using Adobe Reader software, and the link to a free download of this program is included in the email.

These files are for personal, private, and non-commercial use only, and are not for distribution. For more details, please see the End User License Agreement contained on the product page.

Opening & Printing Support
The email that accompanied your file provides step-by-step instructions on downloading, opening, and printing your file.

If your file will not open, will not print, or you are prompted for a password, you may need to download Adobe Reader software on your computer. For a free download of this software, please follow this link:

After you have downloaded the software, please follow the instructions in the email that accompanied the file. If you continue to have technical difficulties, please email us for assistance.

Resizing the Page
Your file has been formatted to allow a margin on all sides to accommodate most printer settings. If you page prints too small or too large, please follow these steps:

Open the PDF document
Select "Print…" from the File menu at the top left hand side of the screen
In the print menu box that pops up, find "Page Scaling" near the bottom
Select "fit to printable area" in the drop-down menu, then press "print"

"Design Your Own" Cards

What are "Design Your Own" Cards?
Teach family names, or just make your child feel special! The "My Family" and "My World" Learning Card sets are completely customized and created for you using your pictures and text. It is so simple and fun!

Creating your own Personalized Set
It is easy! Just follow these simple steps:

Go to the "My Family" or "My World" product page
Select the quantity of sets you wish to order (each set contains 6 cards)
Click "Customize"
Select a border color for your cards
Select your preferred font
Read the "Content Upload Agreement," then click the checkbox to indicate your agreement with the terms and conditions
Type the text for your first card in the "Card 1 text" box (note - depending upon the font you have selected, you will have about a 12 lower case letter maximum)
Click "Browse" to upload the photo for your first card
Repeat the above two steps for the other cards
Press "Add To Cart"

How much text can fit?
To simplify learning, we recommend that only one word appears on each card (two words, such as "fire truck" will work as well). The amount of text that will fit on your card will depend upon your choice of font and the size of each letter. Generally, words that are less than 12 lower case letters will fit.

What kind of picture can I use?
Since you will be uploading pictures to create your Cards, you will need to have your pictures saved as digital files. Digital files can come from a variety of sources including digital cameras, high resolution camera phones, CDs, emails, etc. If you only have the printed photograph or picture, you can scan it into your computer or your local print shop can scan it onto a CD for you.

What size of photo do I need?
For best results, we recommend that you use landscape (horizontal) format pictures. No cropping is necessary before uploading the picture to the website. However, if you choose to crop the photo, you will want to make sure that it is at least 750 pixels wide for horizontal pictures or 500 pixels wide for vertical pictures. To check the size of your photo, hover your cursor over your picture in your file and the dimensions will appear.

How do I upload photos from my digital camera?
Many cameras require only a few basic steps to upload photos. For help with your specific device, please see your owner's manual.

Can I edit my photos on the website?
Our website currently does not offer photo editing options. However, most computers come with image editing software that you can use to crop or edit the image.

Can I order a partial set?
Our customizable Learning Cards come in sets of 6. You are welcome to customize only a portion of the set, and the remaining cards will be printed without a picture or wording. You can then personalize the card at home with your own picture inserted into the Personalization Pocket, and your own text using a permanent marker.
